Piggy Pact is a savings game for couples. This explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and the choices you have. In short: we don't sell your data, advertisers never get your information, and you can download or delete everything at any time.
What we collect
What you give us:
- Your email address, to sign you in with a code.
- Your profile: name, time zone, and optionally how often you're paid and a recent payday (never how much you earn).
- The country, and state or province, you live in.
- Your space: its name, currency and time zone, and the nickname you choose for your partner.
- Goals: names, emoji, category, targets, dates, who can see them, how a shared goal is split, and starting balances.
- Saves and planned saves: amounts, type, notes and dates. These are self-reported. We never connect to your bank.
- Challenges, check-ins, rewards and badges.
- Your settings, including notification choices and your goal deals choice, with when you made it.
What we record as you use it:
- The days you open the app, so we can understand how many people keep using it.
- A notification address for your device, if you turn on notifications.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address and browser type, for security and fixing problems.
What we never collect: bank logins, card or account numbers, or your income.
How we use it
- To run the app: your goals, saves, challenges, streaks, results and badges.
- To send what you ask for: sign-in codes, reminders and notifications, which you can turn off in Profile.
- To show goal deals, if they're on for you. These use only a goal's category and where you live. See how goal deals work.
- To understand how the app is used, as totals, such as how many couples saved this week. No third-party analytics.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
What your partner sees
Piggy Pact is shared by design. Your partner can see:
- Your name, and the challenges, streaks and badges you share.
- Shared goals and every save to them.
- Personal goals you choose to share, and your saves to them.
A private goal stays private. Your partner doesn't see its name, target, progress or notes. Saves to it still count in challenges, so your partner sees the amount and date, labelled “Private goal”. Your country and region are never shown to your partner.
Who else handles your data
We use a few service providers to run Piggy Pact. They process data only on our instructions:
- Supabase: our database and sign-in, hosted in the United States.
- Vercel: hosts the app, in the United States.
- Resend: sends our emails, such as sign-in codes.
- Apple, Google and Mozilla: deliver notifications to your device, if you turn them on. They see the notification, not your account.
Advertisers and sponsors never receive your name, email, goals, amounts or anything that identifies you. They get totals only, such as how many people saw or tapped an offer, and never for groups small enough to point to anyone. We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising on other websites or apps.
We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people's safety or our rights.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. No advertising or tracking cookies, and no third-party analytics.
Where it's stored and how long
Your data is stored in the United States. If you live elsewhere, it is transferred there, with safeguards required by the laws that apply to you.
We keep your data while you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your data from the app straight away. Copies in backups are removed as those backups are replaced.
Your choices and rights
- See and download your data: Profile → Download my data.
- Correct it: edit it in the app, or write to us.
- Delete it: Profile → Delete my account.
- Goal deals: on or off any time in Profile → Offers.
- Notifications: choose which you get, or turn them off, in Profile.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict some uses, or to withdraw consent at any time. Write to privacy@piggypact.com and we'll respond within the time your local law requires. You can also complain to your privacy regulator: the ICO in the UK, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner in Canada (or the Commission d'accès à l'information in Quebec), the OAIC in Australia, or your state attorney general in the US.
If you're in the UK: we rely on our contract with you to run the app, your consent for goal deals where the law requires it and for notifications, and our legitimate interests for security and usage totals.
Children
Piggy Pact is for adults. You must be 18 or older to use it, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes and contact
If we make significant changes, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect. Questions about privacy or your data: privacy@piggypact.com.
